Grown and grounded in your experience

Tomorrow I am starting a new webinar series about information architecture (IA). I do love IA, as it is a natural process for me to go through, and uses my negotiation and facilitation skills to bring an organisation together to talk structure.

I feel very grown in these skills. What do I mean by ‘grown’?

Think of grown as ‘grown-up’, as ‘grown together’, or as ‘fully grown’. There’s a level of maturity and knowledge in us – we don’t have to keep trying to reinvent ourselves and become the next thing.

The knowledge we have can be applied to new situations, and we continue to learn new skills and ideas building upon the base.

When I think of my grown areas – IA (of course) and developing people in digital – I feel grounded and ready to start a new project, work with a new person, and keep adding to my knowledge to make the work I do better.

What’s your grown experience?
